Description

Delicious and crunchy corn dogs that are perfect for family gatherings or picnics.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 chicken sausages
  • 1 cup cornmeal
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup milk
  • Oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Heat the oil in a deep fryer to 180°C (350°F).
  2. Insert a stick into each sausage for easy handling.
  3. In a bowl, mix cornmeal, flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. In another bowl, beat the egg and add milk. Combine with dry ingredients to form a batter.
  4. Coat each sausage in the batter, removing excess.
  5. Fry the sausages in hot oil for 3 to 5 minutes until golden brown and crispy.
  6. Remove and drain on paper towels. Serve hot with your favorite sauces.

Notes

For a lighter option, use turkey or chicken sausages. Use whole milk or a dairy-free substitute for a creamier batter.
