- 8 chicken sausages
- 1 cup cornmeal
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 egg
- 1 cup milk
- Oil for frying
Instructions
- Heat the oil in a deep fryer to 180°C (350°F).
- Insert a stick into each sausage for easy handling.
- In a bowl, mix cornmeal, flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. In another bowl, beat the egg and add milk. Combine with dry ingredients to form a batter.
- Coat each sausage in the batter, removing excess.
- Fry the sausages in hot oil for 3 to 5 minutes until golden brown and crispy.
- Remove and drain on paper towels. Serve hot with your favorite sauces.
Notes
For a lighter option, use turkey or chicken sausages. Use whole milk or a dairy-free substitute for a creamier batter.
