Ingredients

- 6 slices of bread (white or rustic bread)
- 2 cups milk
- 4 eggs
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 50 g butter (for greasing the dish)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
- In a large bowl, beat together the eggs, milk, sugar, vanilla extract, and cinnamon until well combined.
- Dip the bread slices into the mixture, ensuring they are well soaked but not overly soggy.
- Grease a baking dish with butter and arrange the soaked bread slices overlapping slightly.
- Pour the remaining mixture over the top of the bread.
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 30 minutes, or until the top is golden and slightly firm to the touch.
- Allow to cool slightly before serving.
Notes
For best results, use slightly stale or day-old bread to enhance absorption.
