Description

A comforting and creamy bread pudding, perfect for family brunches and utilizing leftover bread.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 slices of bread (white or rustic bread)
  • 2 cups milk
  • 4 eggs
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 50 g butter (for greasing the dish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
  2. In a large bowl, beat together the eggs, milk, sugar, vanilla extract, and cinnamon until well combined.
  3. Dip the bread slices into the mixture, ensuring they are well soaked but not overly soggy.
  4. Grease a baking dish with butter and arrange the soaked bread slices overlapping slightly.
  5. Pour the remaining mixture over the top of the bread.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for about 30 minutes, or until the top is golden and slightly firm to the touch.
  7. Allow to cool slightly before serving.

Notes

For best results, use slightly stale or day-old bread to enhance absorption.
